The David Herzog Fund takes data protection very seriously and treats your personal data confidentially and in accordance with the statutory provisions. This data protection declaration is intended to inform applicants to the David Herzog Fund and scholarship holders of the David Herzog Fund in accordance with Art. 12 and 13 GDPR about the purpose, legal basis and your rights in connection with the processing of personal data by the David Herzog Fund.
Purpose and legal basis of data processing:
Accessing the website
1) Description and scope of data processing
When the websites of the David Herzog Fund of the Styrian Universities are accessed, the web servers temporarily store each access in a log file. The following data is recorded and stored until it is automatically deleted
- IP address of the requesting computer
- Date and time of access
- Name and URL of the retrieved data
- Amount of data transferred
- Message as to whether the retrieval was successful
- Recognition data of the browser and operating system used
- Website from which the access was made
- Name of your internet access provider
2) Purpose of the data processing
This data is processed for the purpose of ensuring the use of the website (connection establishment), system security and the technical administration of the network infrastructure. In addition, the processing serves to optimise the David Herzog Fund's website. The IP address is only analysed in the event of attacks on our network infrastructure.
3) Legal basis for data processing
The processing of the above-mentioned data is carried out in particular on the basis of the existing overriding legitimate interest (Art 6 para 1 lit f GDPR) of the David Herzog Fund in the fulfilment of this purpose.
Scholarships/grants/applications:
We process the data disclosed by you in scholarship applications and all other requested and submitted documents and in final reports, as well as all other required documents for the purpose of examining and evaluating the application or subsequently for processing the funding on the basis of the fulfilment of the funding agreement or for the implementation of pre-contractual measures (Art 6 para 1 lit b GDPR)
Since the processing of personal data is necessary for the conclusion of the contract or the pre-contractual measures, failure to provide the data will unfortunately mean that we will not be able to consider your application.
Events:
For the purpose of organising and running the events, we process the following personal data, which you as a participant provide yourself when registering for the event:
-form of address
-First name and surname
-Title (optional)
-e-mail address
-Organisational affiliation
We process this data for the fulfilment of the event contract or for the implementation of pre-contractual measures (Art 6 para 1 lit b GDPR).
For the purpose of organising and running the events, we process the following personal data that you provide yourself as a speaker
-form of address
-first and last name
-Title (optional)
-Organisational affiliation
-Lecture title
We process this data to fulfil the contract or to carry out pre-contractual measures (pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit b GDPR).
In addition, we process your short biography and your photo for the purpose of organising and holding the events, if you optionally provide us with these. We process this data on the basis of your consent, which you give us through informed, active transmission (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR).
Storage period:
In the case of a contract: We store your personal data for as long as is necessary for the fulfilment of the contract or the implementation of pre-contractual measures (for the selection procedure and scholarship payment, as well as the organisation of an event). Beyond this, we only store your data if there are statutory retention periods or limitation periods regarding potential legal claims.
With consent: Data that we process from you on the basis of your consent will remain stored until you withdraw your consent/will be deleted after the event has ended. In addition, only your absolutely necessary personal data will be stored for the purpose of proving your consent or your revocation for a period of 3 years from revocation.
Transmission of the data:
Your data may be transmitted to the funding bodies of the David Herzog Fund (Karl-Franzens University of Graz, Graz University of Technology, Medical University of Graz, University of Music and Performing Arts Graz, University of Leoben) as well as to the respective funding bodies for the purpose of proving that funding has been used for the intended purpose.
Your rights:
In connection with the processing of your personal data, you have the following rights at any time, which can be exercised with the Managing Director of the DHF:
