David-Herzog-Fund professorship

The DHF awards a David Herzog Fund grant for a visiting professorship every year.
The aim of this grant is to fund a visiting professorship for Israeli or Jewish scientists outside of Israel as well as scientists researching issues related to Jewish culture and history at one of the Styrian universities
The visiting professorship includes the holding a course of up to 2 semester course hours per week and a public lecture.
As part of the David-Herzog-Fonds Visiting Professorship for Jewish Studies, the visiting professor should be at the host university for at least 4 weeks (max. 1 semester).
Eligible to apply: Institutes, centres, departments, chairs and rectorates of all Styrian universities are eligible to apply.
Funding amount: max. € 12,000 (the DHF only funds lecturing, travel and accommodation costs)

In order to submit an application for a David Herzog Fund visiting professorship, the applicant must submit the following documents to the DHF:
- Application form (completed and signed)
- Publication-ready abstract (max. 3500 characters)
- Publication-ready image with secured image copyright (.jpg)
- Financial plan
- Curriculum vitae of the applicant and the visiting professor
- Description of the course and the lecture, as well as their integration into the academic environment of the applicant
